Gillingham head to Accrington Stanley looking to banish the memory of throwing away a two goal lead against AFC Wimbledon.
The players should still be hurting after leading 2-0 and 3-1 before going on to lose 4-3 at Priestfield and Gills boss Andy Hessenthaler has promised changes to his starting eleven.
Most of those could come at the back with Garry Richards and Matt Lawrence’s places in the side most under threat.
A lot will depend upon skipper Andy Frampton’s fitness, with Simon King also poised to come in for his first start of the season. Hessenthaler will make a late call on Frampton’s availability with Connor Essam on standby to be recalled from Dartford should he not make it.
One thing Hessenthaler has ruled out is a move for West Ham United defender Matt Fry who played in a behind closed doors game for Gillingham on Tuesday afternoon fuelling rumours he could be coming back to Priestfield for a second loan spell.
With no other new faces expected to be signed in time for the long trip north, Hessenthaler will be hoping for a response from his side as they look to get themselves back in the play-off positions.
His side may well line up like this:
Flitney, Lee, King, Frampton, Martin, Tomlin, J Payne, Montrose, Jackman, Kuffour, Kedwell.
Subs: Gazzaniga, Richards, Weston, Whelpdale, Oli.
